Michelle Obama Tackles National Childhood Obesity

Throughout American history, most first-wives have chosen an issue to for which champion. Michelle Obama has made it her mission to defeat childhood obesity. Currently, there are about 25 million obese people in this country. Michelle Obama has made the following recommendations to combat this problem. They include: restaurants should have smaller portion sizes and improve children’s menu; companies need to advertise healthy foods more heavily; incentives should be given to sell healthier food; and local government should build more playgrounds. Obesity can cause a variety of problems such diabetes and heart disease.
